MyFlossmoor — Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 31, 2026  |  Last Updated: October 31, 2026

TapTap Performance LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) makes the MyFlossmoor mobile application (“App”). This policy explains what the App does with your information.

1. What MyFlossmoor Is

MyFlossmoor is a concept demonstration of a resident app for the Village of Flossmoor, Illinois. It is not an official Village of Flossmoor app, and it is not connected to the Village's computer systems. Nothing you do in the App is sent to the Village. The App is also not affiliated with Homewood Disposal Service or Republic Services; their names are used only to identify the services residents may use. The App does not replace official emergency alert systems.

2. The Short Version

  • No account is needed.
  • We do not run a server that receives your information. What you enter stays on your phone.
  • The App contains no advertising and no analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting tools.
  • We do not sell or share your personal information.
  • A few features contact outside services, listed in Section 4. When you type an address, we ask your permission first.
  • The App is intended for people 18 and older.

3. Information Kept on Your Phone

If you use the related features, the App keeps the following only on your device, in encrypted storage where your phone supports it:

  • Profile details you type, such as your name, email address, phone number, and street address.
  • Your choices and settings: home screen options, text size, notification options, saved events, and items you follow.
  • Requests, appointment requests, and bill “payments” you create in the demonstration. Payments are simulated and no money moves.
  • Which garbage company you use, your pickup day or area, and the position of your saved address on a map. The App compares that position with an alert's area on your phone, to decide whether the alert applies to your home.
  • A record of the privacy choices you made, with the date and time.

You can remove this information by closing your account in the App, or by uninstalling the App.

4. Information That Leaves Your Phone

  • Address lookup — U.S. Census Bureau. If you type a street address to find your garbage and recycling day, or to save it for alerts, and you tap AGREE, the App sends that address to the U.S. Census Bureau's free address service (geocoding.geo.census.gov) to find its place on a map. It is sent to no one else. If you tap Do Not Agree, nothing is sent. The Census Bureau handles the address under its own policies.
  • Weather and alerts — National Weather Service. The App requests the forecast and alerts for Flossmoor from api.weather.gov. It does not send your address or your location. As with any internet request, the service can see your device's internet address.
  • Village calendar — flossmoor.org. The App reads the Village's public calendar feed. It sends no personal information.
  • Links to other sites. Some buttons open other websites, such as flossmoor.org, Homewood Disposal, Republic Services, Patch, YouTube, Instagram, Otocast, or Metra, in a browser. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.
  • School news (off by default). If you switch on the school feed, the App reads the district's public posts.

5. Location

The train screen can use your phone's location once, when you tap, to estimate how long it takes to reach the station. The calculation happens on your phone. The location is not sent anywhere and is not saved. You can deny location permission and still use the rest of the App.

6. Notifications and Sound

If you allow them, the App shows notifications and can play a siren sound and vibrate for major alerts. These are created on your phone. The App does not receive them from a server. Your phone's volume, silent switch, and Do Not Disturb settings still apply.

7. Your Choices and Rights

  • Tap Do Not Agree on any privacy notice and the feature does not run.
  • Turn alerts, the siren, and location off in the App or in your phone's settings.
  • Close your account in the App to remove your profile and settings, or uninstall the App to remove everything it stores.
  • Because we do not hold your information, we cannot look it up or delete it for you. For any question or request, contact Support@TapTapPerformance.com.

8. Children

The App is intended for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. If This Changes

If the Village of Flossmoor later connects the App to its own systems, requests you submit could be kept by the Village as records under Illinois law. We would update this policy and the notices in the App before that happens. We will change the dates above whenever this page changes.
