Getting started

What is Marshall's Move Your Beats?

Marshall's Move Your Beats is a beat-maker drum machine built for quick beat sketching. It gives you 8 voices — kick, snare, clap, closed hi-hat, open hi-hat, ride, and 2 percussion slots — with a streamlined step sequencer so you can lay down drum patterns fast.

Do I need an account to use the app?

No. There is no sign-up, no login, and no account required. Just open the app and start making beats. All your data stays on your device.

What devices are supported?

Marshall's Move Your Beats requires an iPhone or iPad running a supported version of iOS/iPadOS. Check the App Store listing for the minimum iOS version.

Creating beats

How do I make a beat?

Each row on the step sequencer represents a voice (kick, snare, clap, etc.). Tap the cells to activate steps, then press play to hear your beat loop. Build up layers by toggling steps across different voices.

What are the 8 voices?

The kit includes kick, snare, clap, closed hi-hat, open hi-hat, ride, and 2 percussion slots. This streamlined setup covers the essentials you need for sketching beats quickly.

Can I adjust the tempo?

Yes. Use the tempo control to set your BPM anywhere within the supported range. You can also add swing to loosen up the timing and give your beats more groove.

How do I save a beat?

Beats are saved automatically as you work. You can name and organize your patterns to build up a library of ideas.

Can I adjust the volume of individual voices?

Yes. Each voice has its own level control, so you can balance your mix — push the kick, pull back the ride, or dial the clap in just right.

Features

Can I export my beats?

Yes. You can export your beat patterns to share them or bring them into other music projects. Check the export options in the app for available formats.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. Marshall's Move Your Beats works entirely offline. No internet connection is needed to create, play, or save beats. The only time you need connectivity is to download the app or manage your subscription.

Can I use my beats in a DAW or other music apps?

You can export your patterns and import them into a DAW or other music production software for further production and arrangement.

What is the difference between the 2 percussion slots?

The 2 percussion slots let you add extra flavor beyond the core drum kit. They give you room for additional percussive textures like tambourine, shaker, or other sounds to round out your beat.

Subscription & purchases

How does the subscription work?

Marshall's Move Your Beats offers premium features through auto-renewing subscriptions managed by Apple. Pricing and plan details are shown in the app.

How do I cancel my subscription?

On your device: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Marshall's Move Your Beats. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next charge.

I paid but premium features aren't unlocked.

Try restoring your purchases from within the app. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe. If the issue persists, email us.

Can I get a refund?

All purchases are handled by Apple. Request refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com — we can't process them on Apple's behalf.

Troubleshooting

The app is crashing or freezing.

Make sure you're running the latest version of the app and iOS. Try closing and reopening the app. If the issue continues, email us with your device model, iOS version, and what you were doing when it happened.

I'm not hearing any sound.

Check that your device is not in Silent Mode (flip the side switch on iPhone). Make sure the volume is up and no Bluetooth audio device is connected unintentionally. Also check that individual voice levels within the app are not turned all the way down.

My beats disappeared after an update.

Beats are stored locally on your device. If you deleted and reinstalled the app, local data is removed. Unfortunately, without cloud backup, deleted local data cannot be recovered. We recommend exporting important beats regularly.

Audio latency feels high.

Close other apps that may be using audio in the background. If you're using Bluetooth headphones, try wired headphones or the built-in speaker instead — Bluetooth introduces additional latency.

Steps are not triggering when I tap them.

Make sure you are tapping directly on the grid cell. If the app feels unresponsive, try restarting it. If you're using an older device, make sure no other audio-intensive apps are running in the background.
